REUSE, RECYCLE AND VALUES 97% OF THE WASTE IT GENERATES.
Cabomar obtains the recognition “From Waste to Resources: Zero to Landfill” from Saica Natur, the Saica Group area specialized in waste management and environmental services, which in turn is audited and verified by the multinational TÜV SÜD.
- 27.361 m3 of biogas obtained from 1,612 tons of sludge and organic byproducts. Through an upgrading/cleaning process, it allowed us to obtain 16,417 m3 of methane (CH4) for injection into the network or sale as LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). The residue left after the gasification process was also used as fertilizer for agricultural application.
- 195 tons of paper and cardboard waste recovered, which translates into more than 1.3 million 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard boxes, ready for use in the company’s operations.
- 134 tons of organic waste to obtain flour for animal feed.
- 223 tons of waste not suitable for recycling were destined for energy recovery, to generate up to 461,000 kWh of electricity, equivalent to the consumption of 132 homes in Spain.
